You , Amritha, happened to take part in a medical camp organised by your club in a remote village in Bihar. You are surprised to find that most of the people there have no awareness of basic health or hygiene. As a concerned citizen you decide to take up their cause and organise camps where the villagers can be told about the importance of hygiene. Taking ideas from the notes given below and the unit on 'Health and Hygiene' along with your own ideas, write a letter to the editor of a newspaper about the problem encouraging youngsters to join you in the campaign. Do not exceed 150 words. * cause for ill health * regular discissions camps to be held * a small dispensary to be set up * youngsters to volunteer answer

Sir
Subject: Issue of lack of hygiene and awareness in villages of Bihar
I am very perturbed by the condition of health and hygiene in a few villages of Bihar. Our country known as an agrarian economy needs a wake up call to improve the condition. Through the esteemed columns of your newspaper, I would like to highlight this issue and appeal to our youth to come forward and join this mission.
My recent visit to 3 districts of Bihar statistically proves that 40% of the people are suffering from malnutrition and more than 80% of them are unaware of the minimum requirements that need to be fulfilled to stay hygienic and healthy. Contaminated drinking water and improper sanitation facilities are leading to fatal diseases. Proper medical facilities for pregnant women, ladies, children, new born, aged, everyone is required. A dispensary needs to be set in every district at the earliest.
I request the youth of our nation to come forward and volunteer in bringing about a massive change in the prevailing condition. With a hope to bring a revolutionary change in the society,
Yours sincerely,
Amrita Hazra
