How often do we try to focus on something for long but still can’t get through? Even simple day-to-day activities seem like a battle. The truth is that even though it may seem that the factors that are hindering our focus and memory are external but actually they are more internal than we may think. Every time you feel sluggish and lethargic, think about the last meal you had. The foods that we eat have a direct impact on the blood and oxygen to our brains, as well as our energy levels and how quickly that energy is depleted. Since our diet choices affect not only our energy levels but also how long we’re able to stay focused, similarly it affects how our memory works. The following are the top 10 Superfoods that will help you boost your memory:

WALNUTS1. Walnuts: These brain-like looking nuts are full of heart-healthy and anti-inflammatory nutrients. They are a good source of alpha linolenic acid (ALA) which helps promote blood flow, meaning that it allows efficient delivery of oxygen to the brain. Research shows that walnuts help in improving memory, learning and motor skill coordination.

BERRIES2. Berries: Berries, especially blueberries are packed with antioxidants with high levels of vitamins C and K, as well as essential minerals such as potassium. They are particularly helpful at protecting our brain cells from the negative effects of stress and anxiety, and aid communication between neurons and improve cognitive functions. Strawberries, oranges, raspberries, plums and cherries are equally good for our brain.
Eat Your Greens3. Leafy green vegetables: Vegetables, particularly green & leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, radish, etc., have been shown to have protective effects on the brain. These veggies are a good source of vitamin E and folate. They help protect against cognitive decline.
