7 Facts about Republic Day You Just Can’t Miss

India celebrates its 68th Republic Day today. It was an idea that made the crucial difference between British India and Free India – an idea about the way people should govern themselves. Some people make the mistake of calling that idea ‘democracy’ and imagining that any country can adopt it merely by holding elections. In reality, democracy was the capstone of an edifice that had as its foundation the rule of law – the sanctity of individual freedom and the security of fundamental rights, represented by constitutional government.
As we celebrate the 68th Republic Day, we decided to bring you something different and quirky. Here are some interesting facts about Republic Day, we bet you didn’t know!
