The Science Board Exam for CBSE Class 10 was conducted today. Here’s a brief analysis of the paper by our Science expert at Meritnation:

Today’s science board exam can be considered an easy one as most of the questions were based on NCERT textbooks. Questions from the Biology portion, such as water harvesting, Mendel’s mono-hybrid cross etc., were lengthy but quite easy to solve. A similar pattern was observed for Physics and Chemistry. From the Physics portion, one of the questions from the chapter ‘Light’ was a bit lengthy as it required calculation of the image distance using lens formula and drawing the ray diagram.

As expected, the value based questions were missing this year. Similar to the last year pattern of subject-wise difficulty, Biology offered the easiest questions while Chemistry was easier. Some questions from Physics were average due to the length of the questions. Altogether, Physics contained the highest weightage of 29 marks, followed by Biology with 26 marks and then Chemistry with 25 marks.

Nonetheless, those students who had read the NCERT book thoroughly will have found the questions extremely straightforward.
