The Board exam for CBSE Class 12 Economics was conducted on 26th March 2018. Our experts at Meritnation have analysed the question paper for you. Read on to get a detailed analysis and the entire solution to the questions asked.

As anticipated, a major difference was seen in this year’s board paper of Economics, as the total number of questions were reduced to 24 as opposed to 30 questions last year. Moreover, with the introduction of project for 20 marks, the total marks for the theoretical paper were reduced to 80 as against 100 last year. So, we can surely say that this year students had one point in their favour.

Talking about difficulty level, out of total 24 questions, 3 questions were difficult, with 13 easy and 8 moderate questions. The paper was more or less easy as most of the questions were direct in nature.
Along with this, there were questions which required graphs such as Q no. 6, 7, 9,10, 11, etc. So, we hope you all drew the diagrams and explained them as well.

The chapter-wise weightage of both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics was seen to be similar to that prescribed by the CBSE in the syllabus. A change was observed in the marks allocated to numerical questions with 18 marks of numerical questions in this year’s paper.

Lastly, if we analyse 2018’s paper on an over all basis, we can say that the paper was quite easy, though it did have some tricky questions like Q 13, 15 and 21.
