Keeping in mind the changing times, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday announced that it will be introducing Design Thinking, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Physical Activity Trainer courses for students of class 11 from the 2020-21 academic session.

According to the official notification, this move will help the new generation to be more creative, innovative and physically fit. Moreover, it will help them to keep pace with the global developments and requirements at the workplace.

We all are aware that Design Thinking and Artificial Intelligence are the primary new-age skills that industries are now looking out for. Keeping this in mind the board has decided to add the new subjects which will help the students improve their skill set for future prospects.

“While thinking is a skill that all humans possess, the 21st century’s requirement is of critical thinking and problem-solving. Design Thinking is a systematic process of thinking that opens up the horizons of creativity and enables even the most conditioned thinkers to bring about new and innovative solutions to the problems at hand,” said Biswajit Saha, Director Training and Skill Education, CBSE.

The Physical Activity Trainer course will motivate the students to stay fit. After all, physical fitness is of utmost importance when it comes to overall personality growth. It is crucial to be fit and healthy to experience happiness, peace and to enjoy an energetic and enthusiastic lifestyle.

“Physical Activity is a must if the body and mind are to be kept healthy. With this view in mind, the course on Physical Activity Trainer has been prepared. It will not only help in developing the skill of a trainer but will also become a life skill as it will imbibe the idea of keeping fit for life,” Saha added.
