Even the best of us could do with some more practice!

This festive season we decided to do something special for our students. So we brainstormed internally to come up with that one something that can make a big difference to your studies. Practice. That we felt is the key. We wanted to create a space for you on Meritnation where you could come and practice a set of questions on a given topic and also keep track of your performance over time to ensure that it is indeed going northward as it should be:)

Every day, on Meritnation you get access to a ‘Practice Set’ containing 5 questions in Maths & Science from a topic of your choice. If you know the topic you want to practice on, simply click on the topic and get started.

Alternatively, you can ‘search’ for the topic using the search option.

After every practice you get to see a quick summary report of your performance.

That is not all. You also get to track your performance over time with the help of a special rating mechanism. So while you may get a 5-Star rating on correctly answering all the five questions in the first practice set, the challenge is to maintain your 5-Star rating in all your future attempts on the topic. So are you up to it?

How can practice help you learn better?

Practice makes perfect. You must have heard that a zillion times before. In fact it is also being talked about in books. Okay, so maybe not 10000 hours as advised by Malcolm Gladwell in his critically acclaimed book, Outliers, but at least a lot of practice is what you should definitely be doing right here at Meritnation. Cos’ practice really works! The more you practice, the more you help to strengthen the neural connections in your brain that are formed every time you learn something new. Continued practice helps to increase the speed and strength of these signals in your brain!

When should you practice?

Every day: Use this feature to quickly revise the topic you studied in school that day. You can follow it up with a quick look at the video lesson for that topic for a better understanding.

As a build up to your Exam /Test preparation: The ideal way to prepare for an upcoming exam in school is to study the concepts with the help of the study material on Meritnation, attempt the Questions on the practice set from the topic and then follow it up with a Chapter Test.

So you see, all you need to do is make it a HABIT to practice on Meritnation and keep up the star rating. The rest you can leave it to the ‘firing’ in your brain. Of course, when you see your grades go higher, you will know that it is working!

The Practice Questions’ feature is available to both Free & Paid users. While free users can ‘unlock’ one set on a daily basis and start experiencing the magic of practice, the paid users can propel their preparation to the next level by ‘unlocking’ unlimited sets for a given topic.

With the launch of the Practice Questions feature, there is something new waiting for you every day at Meritnation! We would like to know what you think of it. If you are in class 6-12, do test the Practice Questions’ feature here. We would love to hear from you. Send us your suggestions or feedback at newlook@meritnation.com or call us at 011-40705070 or comment below.

We at Meritnation believe in being at the helm of driving new age learning. Do keep watching this space for more value adding features which will help you make school easy.

Happy Studying
