Meet Sundar Pichai, the India born and brought up CEO of the Internet Giant Google!
It is a great and a proud moment for all Indians as Sundar Pichai takes on this new role. In an important restructuring of Google under the parent company Alphabet, Mr. Pichai has been named the chief executive officer of Google.
Let’s learn more about him:
1. He was born and brought up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and is just 43 years old. He celebrates his birthday on 12th July.
2. He studied in GRT Mahalaksmi Vidyalaya and Vanavani Matriculation Higher Secondary School.
3. He later got admission in IIT-Kharagpur and earned Bachelor of Technology from this esteemed institute.
4. Sundar Pichai also has a Master of Science degree from Stanford University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
5. He joined Google in the year 2004 as Vice President of Product Management.
6. He led the launch of the Chrome web browser in 2008 and was promoted to Senior Vice President taking charge of supervising all Google apps including the popular apps like Gmail and Google Drive and was finally given control of Android itself.
7. “He is known for his dedication and was the natural choice to lead Google”, said the now former chief Larry Page.
