SA1 scheduled to begin from 2nd week of September

The suspense over the date of SA1 examinations is over. In a recent announcement by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students of class IX & X would undertake the first Summative Assessment (SA I) -2013-2014 beginning from the second week of September 2013.

CBSE will support schools to generate online question papers in all major subjects. CBSE has left it to schools to make their own date sheets. The schools will have to schedule their SA1 from 16 September onwards.And this time CBSE intends to move towards digitization of exams in small steps to ensure streamlining of the process. The CBSE will provide schools with the marking scheme online from 20th September. Earlier, the board used to provide question papers and the marking scheme for conducting the SA through CDs . But this year each school will be provided with two sets of unique question papers by CBSE generated through online software.

The question papers are being designed by the CBSE and will be sent online to schools in order to maintain uniformity and standardization throughout the process, revealed Navin Maini, research officer (Technology), CBSE.
