Childhood

Ebright was a single child, living north of Reading, Pennsylvania. He had no one of his age group to play with, so he used to collect things. He began collecting butterflies in kindergarten and also collected rocks, fossils and coins. He was interested in astronomy and would sometimes star-gaze all night.
