No one is free
The author feels no man is free. Whether we wish to or not, we have to eat, sleep, procreate and travel. Neither a labourer nor a monarch can avoid these. However, the jobs needed to be done in relation to these necessities such as providing food, beds, beddings and clothes can be avoided. We could either steal them from others or force others to do them for us. The author warns his readers not to become enslaved to people who would not hesitate extracting work from them for eight to fourteen hours a day.
