an object rests on a horizontal frictionless surface . A horizontal force of magnitude F is applied. This force produces an accleration:
A) only if F is larger than the weight of the object.
B) only while the object suddenly changes from rest to motion.
D) only if the inertia of the object decreases
why is rolling friction less than sliding friction?
can u solve this riddle:
In some situations, I oppose the motion in other situation, I facilitate the motion but, i always oppose the relative motion between two moving surfaces. put some lubricant, and i become small there. Make the moving surfaces rough i make the movement tough. I may be- static, sliding or rolling but whenever two surfaces are in motion I am always there, Tell me who I am!!!!

The volumes of regular solids, such as spheres (balls) and rectangular prisms (blocks), can be determined by measuring their dimensions. The volume of a solid is usually expressed in cubic centimeters (cm3). One cubic centimeter is exactly the same volume as 1 milliliter.
Goal: Measure and calculate the volume of a rectangular prism and a sphere.
1. Observe: Count the squares in the rectangle at right to find its area.
A. What is the area of the rectangle? ______________________
2. Observe: A block is an example of a rectangular prism. A rectangular prism has six rectangular faces. Look at the block shown below. Each cube inside the block has a 1-cm side and a volume of 1 cm3, or 1 mL.
A. What are the length, width, and height of the block?
Length: _____ Width: _____ Height: _____
B. Multiply these three dimensions. What is the product of the length, width, and height? __________
C. How many cubic centimeters are in the block? __________
Why are the worn out tyres discarded?
Pls explain this:
To hold a glass of water, friction is necessary. Due to friction present between our fingers and the outer surface of the glass, we are able to grip the glass of water. If there was no friction present, it would not be possible to hold it.
