 The groupings discussed in the chapter are called ‘classes’ or ‘classintervals’, and their size is called the classsize or class width. In each of these classes, the least number is called the lower class limit and the greatest number is called the upperclass limit, e.g., in 2029, 20 is the ‘lower class limit’ and 29 is the ‘upperclass limit’.
Next, the Graphical Representation of Data is explained. This includes:
a. Bar graphs
b. Histograms of uniform width, and of varying widths. This is a form of representation like the bar graph, but it is used for continuous class intervals.
c. Frequency of polygons
 Frequency polygons can also be drawn independently without drawing histograms
 The midpoints of the classintervals are called classmarks.
 Classmark = (Upper limit + Lower limit)/ 2
 Mean: It is found by adding all the values of the observations and dividing it by the total number of observations
 Median: It is the value of the middlemost observation(s).
 Mode: The mode is the most frequently occurring observation
