cockroaches begin to move to their hiding places if the lights are switched on at night. what is the stimulus and the response in this case.

Cockroaches are highly aversive to light. They do not like light and prefer to survive in darker places. Like us they have sense organs to detect light which can differentiate between light and dark. As soon as light spreads the cockroach senses it and scurries back to its hiding places.
