    Hydrophytes are plants that grow in water or in very wet places.

    Mesophytes are the plants which need moderate conditions like neither too wet nor too dry for their growth.

    Xerophytes are the plants that are adapted to survive in the conditions where the water is present below the average level like in deserts.

    Halophytes are plants which tolerate or need high salt concentrations in the soil water they absorb.

    Heliophytes are the plants that need high sunlight for their growth and Sciophytes are the plants that need shade  i.e less sunlight for their growth.
