AIIMS and JIMPER admissions through NEET

AIMS and JIMPER admissions through NEETGood news for all the medical aspirants in the country. As per an announcement made by the Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal, the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET will be the only medical entrance exam in India from now on. Under the newly constituted National Medical Commission, NMC Act, 2019, the admission to Institutes of National Importance (INI’s) like AIIMS and JIPMER would also be done on the basis of NEET. Both the institutes had separate entrance exams namely AIIMS MBBS and JIMPER MBBS entrance test for admissions till last year.

Hence, for admission to AIIMS, JIPMER for the 2020-21 academic session, candidates now need to fill the NEET 2020 online application form.

It is believed that the move will benefit the students and cut down on the stress that goes into preparing for multiple medical entrance exams.

As for the Admission Process, admission to AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS programs would come under the All India Quota and conducted by the Directorate General of Health Services (Govt. of India) by the Medical Counselling Committee along with the 15% All India Quota counseling. There will be no ‘state quota’ for admission to AIIMS or JIPMER.
