Cutoff declared by CBSE for JEE Advanced 2015

CBSE has declared the JEE Main cutoff for 2015 along with JEE Main 2015 Result declared on 27 May, 2015. The cutoff this year has been lower than those of previous years due to the higher difficulty level of JEE Main 2015 exam. For 2015, the cutoff for general category is 105 marks, while it was 115 in 2014. General category candidates scoring equal to or above this, will be able to appear for JEE Advanced on May 24, 2015.

Here is the official cut off for JEE Advanced 2015 as declared by CBSE:

This cutoff applies to all engineering aspirants who appeared for JEE Main 2015 on April 4 (JEE Main offline paper) and April 10-11 (JEE Main online paper).

JEE Main 2015 Cutoff

Based on the JEE Main exam result, CBSE declares a cut off every year. Candidates scoring marks equal to or more than cutoff are eligible to sit for the second stage of the exam, JEE Advanced, which determines eligibility to get into IITs and ISM Dhanbad. Out of all the students appearing for JEE Main exam,  only the top 1,50,000 students who have the highest scores are shortlisted for JEE Advanced exam.

 

Factors Determining JEE Main Cutoff

> Difficulty level of the JEE Main paper

> How many students have appeared in the examination

> How much students have scored

> Number of seats available to all IITs and ISM Dhanbad

 

Admission to Institutes Other Than IITs and ISM Dhanbad

>  Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the JEE Main 2015 score and All India Rank for admission and allotment.

> It is necessary to obtain marks more than the cutoff to be included into into merit lists of most institutes.

> Various colleges decide their own opening and closing ranks for admissions.

> After each round of allotment, cutoff is be issued for next round.
