JEE Advanced 2015 Results Announced on June 18

The results for JEE Advanced 2015 were announced on the official JEE website on the 18th of June. These results are one of the most eagerly awaited ones in India, as they decide the candidates’ eligibility to get admitted to the prestigious IIT’s across the country, for engineering and technology courses.

JEE Advanced Result 2015Out of the 1,17, 238 candidates that appeared for the Advanced exam, having made it in the cut-offs from the JEE Main, 26, 456 have made the cut to get admission in the various branches of IITs and NITs. In last year result, a little over 27,000 had cleared the exam.

 

Procedure to check JEE Advanced 2015 Result:

1. Go to official JEE results portal at: https://jeeadv15.iitb.ac.in/jeeAdv/stud_login.jsp

2. Enter JEE Advanced registration number, Date of Birth and Registered Mobile Number/Email ID.

3. Login to view results, or download and save as PDF.

 

Among the highlights, Satvat Jagwani, of Satna, Madhya Pradesh, emerged the all-India topper in the exam. Having appeared from the IIT-Kanpur zone, he scored 469 out of 504. Janak Agarwal and Mukesh Pareekh, both residents of Indore, came second and third, respectively.

The 32,000 seats offers by the IITs and NITs, a total of 88 institutes will commence through a common web portal from June 25.

 

Here are the Highlights for the JEE Advanced Result 2015:

  • Number of candidates appeared: 1,17,238
  • Number of candidates qualified: 26, 456
  • Male candidates qualified: 23,407
  • Female candidates qualified: 3,049

  • IIT-Bombay: 6,838
  • IIT-Delhi: 4,511
  • IIT-Guwahati: 1,445
  • IIT Kanpur: 3,085
  • IIT-Kharagpur: 3,115
  • IIT- Madras: 4,928
  • IIT- Roorkee: 2,534

The campus at IIT Goa will not be admitting students for the session 2015-16, as the site for the campus still remains undecided.

 

The following are the two criteria candidates must fulfill in order to be applicable for admission:

 

  • 1. Candidate should be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in the Class 12 board examinations or he/she must have secured 75% (for General or OBC-NCL) or 70% (for SC, ST or PwD) of aggregate marks in the Class 12 (or equivalent) board examination. The marks scored in five subjects will be considered for calculating aggregate marks and cut-off for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion.

 

  • 2. Apart from physics, chemistry and mathematics and a language, if a student has taken two languages the language in which he has scored higher marks will be considered. If a student has taken subjects other than the above four, the paper in which he has scored higher marks will be considered.

More About JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is the most crucial exam for IIT aspirants. JEE Advanced 2015 was conducted by IIT Bombay, which will also release the results and distribute merit lists to colleges. The JEE Advanced result for 2015 is expected to be released on 18th June, 2015 post which qualifying candidates will be able to fill their choices online from 26th June 2015 to 30th June 2015.
