jee advanced 2015 cut off slashedThe cut off marks, which serve as the minimum qualifying marks, for the JEE Advanced 2015 exam were released on June 13, 2015, along with the individual marks for each candidate. The candidates who appeared for both the papers can check the marks awarded to them for each question in Paper I and Paper II. They can do so by logging into the candidate portal.

The qualifying marks criteria for the Advanced exam was revised this year, once it was noticed that fewer students made it past the bar. This is the first one time in three years that the cut off was revised to be suitable for the candidates appearing in the Advanced exam.

The final qualifying marks for the JEE Advanced 2015 exam have been decided as following:

> To qualify for the JEE Advanced, a candidate will now have to score 7% marks in each of the three subjects, with an aggregate of 24.5%. This is a lowered cut off as compared to the one of 10% and 35% aggregate.

> The minimum aggregate qualifying marks for the general category are now 124 out of 504. A candidate has to score minimum 12 marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry separately, after adding the paper 1 and 2 marks.

Tie-break rules for ranking:

> Candidate with higher aggregate marks will be assigned a better/higher rank (smaller number).

> If two candidates have the same aggregate marks, then the candidate with higher marks in mathematics will be assigned a better / higher rank (smaller number).

> If two candidates have the same aggregate marks and same marks in mathematics, then the candidate with higher marks in physics will be assigned a better / higher rank (smaller number).

> If two candidates have the same aggregate marks and same marks in mathematics and physics, then both the candidates will be assigned the same rank.
