JEE Main 2015 Answer Key Errors

JEE Main 2015, the joint entrance examination for engineering aspirants, was conducted on 4th April in the offline mode and 10th and 11th April in the online format. Over 13 lakh students appeared for the exam, merit lists of which are considered by colleges like IITs, ISMs, IIITs and NITs across the country. The exam is set in two parts, the first (Paper 1) meant for engineering aspirants and the other (Paper 2) for architecture aspirants.

Every year, CBSE releases an answer key to the paper, which is essentially a list of all the correct answers to the questions in the JEE. The answer key was released on the 18th of April, 9 days before the result of JEE Main 2015 is scheduled to be announced. Students can tally their answers with those given in the answer key and predict the chances of being selected to appear in the JEE Advanced exam. Only the top 1.5 lakh students in JEE Main 2015 merit list will qualify to appear in this exam.

The answer key to JEE Main 2015 Paper 1 was displayed on the official JEE Main website till the 22nd of April. Candidates could challenge the answer key within a week from when the answer key is released.

Some errors were observed upon the release of the answer key, owing to which CBSE will be awarding 4 extra marks to candidates. Section C contained all the discrepancies:

> Question 22 was incorrect, while CBSE stated it to be correct
> Question 51 was correct , but CBSE stated otherwise
> Question 53 and Question 57 had two correct options each. The Board has decided to reward positive points to candidates who chose either of the two.

JEE Main 2015 results are to be announced on 27th April 2015. JEE Advanced exam is to be held almost a month later, on 24th May, 2015.
