JEE Main 2015 Cut off: What Engineering Aspirants Can Expect

JEE Main (offline) exam was held on April 4, 2015, and the online JEE exam on the 10th and 11th April 2015. JEE Main is the first of two examinations held for engineering aspirants wanting to join any of the prestigious colleges in India, like the IIT’s, NIT’s and IIIT’s. While Paper 1 of JEE concerns engineering (B.Tech.) aspirants, Paper 2 is taken by B.Planning and B.Arch. aspirants.

JEE Main 2015 Cut off

Out of several lakh examinees who appear for JEE Main, only 1.5 lakh are chosen to go forward and appear for JEE Advanced exam. This exam determines which students can get admitted into IITs and other prestigious colleges across India. The primary criterion for selection for JEE Advanced is the cut off, which is decided by CBSE and announced on the official website along with the JEE Main exam results. The cut off is the minimum marks required to be eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced exam.

Below is the expected cut off to be eligible to sit for JEE Advanced 2015:

Other criteria for engineering aspirants to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, are:

1. Candidate should have appeared for class XII/ equivalent in 2014/15, with a position in top 20 percentiles.

2. Candidate should have been born after 1st October 1990.

3. A candidate can take the exam only twice and that too, consecutively.

4. Candidate should not have taken admission, previously, in any of the IITs or ISM.

    do bonus questions affect the cut off ? do bonus questions can sometime help the student to clear cut offs?
