NTA introduces new changes in JEE Main Exam 2020

New changes introduced in JEE Main Exam 2020On 3rd September 2019, the National Testing Agency has opened the window for receiving the applications for JEE Main Exam. Along with this, the agency has also announced a few more additions in the exam.

There’s good news for students from non-science backgrounds who wish to sit for the JEE Main exam. Candidates who have Mathematics as a main subject in class 12 will now be eligible to appear for B.Planning exam. The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2020 includes educational qualification, age limit, number of attempts and state eligibility.

It has been recently announced that there will be a decrease in the number of questions of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Students need to do their preparations according to the new structure of the exam.

The conducting body has also introduced a separate paper for B.Planning in JEE Main 2020, increasing the number of papers from two to three. Earlier, there used to be two papers. Paper 1 was for those students who wished to take admission in B.tech courses and paper 2 was for those who wished to get into B.Arch or B.Planning courses. The students appearing for JEE Main have the freedom to choose if they wish to take up all three papers, two papers or just one paper.

NTA has also rolled out a new paper pattern for JEE Main 2020. As per the new pattern, paper 2 (B.Arch) will be divided into three parts – Mathematics, Aptitude test (to be conducted in computer-based mode) and Drawing test (pen & paper mode).
Paper 3 (B.Planning) will also comprise three parts. The first two parts will be similar to the B.Arch paper while the third part will be questions related to planning. This paper will be conducted in a computer-based mode.

Students who wish to appear for the JEE Main Exam 2020 can submit their applications by filling the form available on the official website of NTA till September 30, 2019.
