     what is electromagnetism ?

It was found that electricity and magnetism had indeed a very close relationship. When electric field is generated around a wire or something else, then magnetic field is also created around it. Also, when a magnet is made to pass very quickly through a tube covered with copper wire, then electric field or electricity is generated.

So, for the study of these phenomena, a new branch of science was formed that was known as electromagnetism.

    Here's something interesting:

U can establish relationship between different branches of science which are still undiscovered. Here r some of these: Quantum mechanics+gravity, Gravity+ Magnetism, Gravity+Magnetism+Quantum Mechanics+Theory of relativity+String theory or the very famous theory of everything.Seems u have lot of stuff to do!!!!

    Thumps up please.

    Hi,

As the name suggest Electro+magnetism. Electromagnetism is the branch of physics which deals with the study of the combined effect of electricity and magnetism. While when electric current passes through a conductor it produces a magnetic field around it . It acts as a temporary magnet hence it is called an electromagnet . However it looses its magnetism as soon as the current supply is cut off, strength of an electromagnet ∝ Current

∝ number of loops of the coil

     ∝ Nature of the core

    Hope it helps!

The process of magnetising a iron bar with the help of electricity (by passing currents) is called electromagnetism. It is the most preffered type of magnet .

electromagnetism, science of charge and ofthe forces and fields associated with charge.electricity  and magnetism are two aspects of electromagnetism. electricity and magnetism were long thought to be seperate forces.it was not until the 19th century that they were finally treated as interrelated phenomena. in 1905  Albert Eistein's special theory of relativity established beyond a doubt that both are aspects of one common phenomenon.

ELECTROMAGNETISMIS A PROCESS IN WHICH ELECTRICITY IS PASSED BY A PIECE A IRON BAR AND IT BEHAVE LIKE A MAGNET.

you can understand when we spell ELECTROMAGNETISM, it is the invention of electricity.

Electromagnetism  is the branch of  science  concerned with the  forces  that occur between electrically charged particles. In electromagnetic theory these forces are explained using electromagnetic fields . Electromagnetic force is one of the four  fundamental interactions  in nature , the other three being the  strong interaction , the  weak interaction  and  gravitation .

study of electromagnet can be termed as electromagnetism

Electromagnetism is a branch of science. When a body is electrically charged it works as a magnet .This is called Electromagnetism.

When we circle a iron nail or any iron subtance like nail with a copper wire and then electricity is passed through it then it [Iron nail or other article made of nail] acts as a magnet that is only called Electromagnism

when an electric current is passed to an iron nail through an insulated copper wire it forms a small magnetic field. this process is called electromagnetism.

the electricity  used in our homes for running different gadjets such as tubelights , heaters ,geasers etc. is called electromagnetism.
