1.why are igloos dome shaped?

2.why houses in earthquake prone areas are made by wood?

3why do people of Assam live in houses built on stilts?

1.Igloos are made in snowfall areas.Their dome shape helps the snow to slide down and prevent corrosion to house.
2. Earthquake forces are proportional to a structure's mass, so heavy steel and concrete structures experience greater forces. Wood-frame construction is substantially lighter than other types of construction.
3.Assam experiences heavy rainfall. So, people of Assam live on houses built on stilts to prevent rain water from entering into the houses.

1. Dome shape contributes to the saving of energy. Energy is vital in cold areas and Igloos are built in a cold area. The dome shape also enables snow to slide down from the roof.
2. Wood is a material which does not break easily. Earthquake-prone areas have more earthquakes which means more breaking of substances. Wood prevents the last points, so, houses in earth-quake prone areas are made of wood.
3. Houses in Assam are built on slits because the state receives a high rainfall which may cause floods, and if houses were built normally, that is completely fixed to the ground, then, water would enter the house floor. To avoid this, houses must be in a great height which is why the houses are built on slits.
