A stone of density 3000 kg/m3 is lying submerged is water of density 1000 kg/m3. If the mass of stone in air is 150 kgf, calculate the force required to lift the stone. (g=10m/s2

Volume of the stone, v=1503000=0.05 m3
Weight of the water displaced by the stone=0.05×1000×g=0.05×1000×10=500 N
Buoyancy force =500 N
Wight of the stone =150×g=150×10=1500 N
The force needed to lift the stone =(1500-500) N=1000 N
