can you please explain when is the work done zero

Dear Student! Sujal

Work done is given by the expression W = Fx d x cosθ
Here, F is magnitude of force, d displacement and θ angle between direction of force and displacement.
Now, if displacement is zero, work done will be zero. Moreover, if angle θ is 90°, work done will be zero as cos 90° is zero.
You will learn about it in gade 10 in trigonometry (Mathematics).

I hope it is clear to you!
Best wishes!!

if you push a wall by 1000  N force and wall displaces 0 meters then w=F*S or W=FS THERFORE W=1000N *0 meteres then w=0 ,so in this condition work done is 0..

when force is applied on an object but object does not get displaced.then the work done will zero for ex: you are pushing a wall ,the force acting perpendicularluy on the wall therefore w=fs cos 90 where the value of cos 90 is 0 so w=fs*0=0.

work done is zero when a force acts at right angle to the direction of the motion of the body.

  • 0

if u apply force on an object and it doesn't move then u can tell that work done is zero.
