Dear Sir,
Please tell me Roman no. of 180 ?
CXXC OR CLXXX and Why ?
Hi!
In Roman numeral X, L and Y stand for the numbers 10, 50 and 100 respectively. There is a rule while writing Roman numeral. The rule is that Two or more smaller numerals (with respect to their value) cannot be written in between two bigger numeral.
Among X and C, C is smaller numeral as compared to C. So, we cannot write two X between two C. Thus, writing of CXXC is not logical valid.
Now, CLXX X = 10 + 50 + 10+ 10 + 10 = 180
Thus, the Roman numeral for 180 is CLXX X but not CXXC.
Hope! This will help you.
Cheers!!!
