torrid zone:1. lies between equator to tropic of cancer in north and equator to tropic of capricorn in south.

2. sun rays are directly overhead here.

3. the temperature here is very hot.

frigid zone: 1. lies between arctic circle to north pole in north and antarctic circle to south pole in south.

2.sun rays are never directly overhead. or slanting sunrays fall here. in other words it receives very lesssun rays.

3. the temperature here is very cool and it is covered with ice for most part of the year.

The difference is that the Torrid Zone is hot and is the region between the tropics of Cancer to the tropic of Capricorn. The Frigid Zone on the other hand is frozen according to Aristotle and is the area north of the Antarctic Circle 66.5 degrees north and 66.5 degrees south.
