Explain the mode of adaptation of plants like lichen ,mosses ,algae in Antarctica?

To grow in extreme climatic condition the plants of Antarctica have some special adaptation like

• They can tolerate very low temperature and continuous snowfall.
• They are comparatively dark in colour to absorb as much sunlight as possible.
• They can easily grow in cervices, under rocks and snow.
• They grow in colonies to share their resources
• They can hold water as scarcity of water is extreme there.
• They can grow in low quality soil with less nutrients.
