explain the role of consumer council .

Consumer protection Council consists of the following members, namely:— 

(a) the Minister in charge of the consumer affairs in the Central Government, who shall be its Chairman, and 

(b) such number of other official or non-official members representing such interests as may be prescribed.

The functions of consumer protection council are: 

* They guide consumers on how to file cases in the consumer court.

 * They also represent individual consumers in the consumer courts. 

* These voluntary organisations also receive financial support from the government for creating awareness among the people
