Nomadic tribes move from one place to another. The advantages to the environment from this continuos movement are:

  • Pastoral movements allow time for natural restoration of vegetation growth
  • The quality of pastures is maintained
  • The cattle is fed and the quality of livestock is maintained
  • Manure is required in the agriculture fields which is provided by the animals.

NOMADIC TRIBES  MOVE  FROM  ONE  PLACE  TO   ANOTHER  BECAUSE THEY  DO  NOT HAVE  REGULAR  FIELD  OF  THEIR  OWN  FROM  WHERE  THEY  COULD  GET FODDER  FOR  THEIR  HERD.

THEY  MOVE  FROM  ONE  PLACE  TO  ANOTHER  IN  SEARCH  OF  PASTURE  FOR  THEIR  HERD.IN INDIA  WE  HAVE  LARGE  NUMBER  OF  PASTORAL  COMMUNITIES  SUCH  AS  GUJJAR  BAKARWALS  OF  JAMMU  AND  KASHMIR  GADDI  SHEPHERDS  OF  HIMACHAL  PRADESH , RAIKAS  FROM  RAJASTHAN  DHANGARAS FROM  MAHARASHTRE ETC.

THEIR  MOVEMENT  IS  ACCORDING  TO  SEASONS  IN  HILLSFROM  SEPTEMBER  TO  APRIL  THEY  GET  FODDER  IN  FOREST  FROM  APRIL  THEY  START  THEIR  UPWARDS  JOURNEY  &  BY  SEPTEMBER  THEIR  DOWNWARDS  JOURNEY  BEGINS.

THEIR  SEASONAL  MOVEMENT  IS  VERY  ADVANTAGES  TO  ENVIRONMENT  THEIR  MOVEMENT ALLOWS  SUFFICIENT  TIME  FOR  NATURE  RESTORATION  OFN   VEGETATION  GROUNDS. THEY  HELP  IN  MAINTAINING  THE  QUALITY OF  PASTURES.
