1)Shortwave frequencies are capable of reaching any location on the Earth because they can be reflected by the ionosphere (a phenomenon known as Skywave propagation)

2)Ozone layer reflect harmful UV radiations which causes skin cancer etc.

3) the television signal are of high frequency and they are not reflected by the ionosphere.
