How area is a vector quantity? Do it has any direction?

No ,area is not a vector quantity because we know that vector quantity consists of both magnitude and direction and area doesn't have a direction.

who said area is a vector quantity? Is it really ?

xyz

 Yes it is a vector quantity

  • -3

 yes area is a vector quantity here i dont remember but i think prependicular is to be put on the object like somewhat that

area is both scalar and vector quantity. If it is large area then it is a scalar quantity but if it is small area then it is a vector quantity. It is a vector defined direction perpendicular to the surface.

pressure = force/area

area = force(vector) / pressure(scalar) and vector/scalar = vector

hence, area is a vector quantity

 I don't want to prove it a vector by formula method.I want to know it practically

i too have same question..  how it can be practically ?

Area is a scalar quantity as area is non directional.
