How did Antony presume Caesar would take revenge ?
Antony imagines that Caesar's spirit, thirsting for revenge would come down to earth with Ate, the Roman goddess who wreaked havoc on mortals, by his side, coming from hell to aid in his quest. Caesar would proclaim 'havoc' in the voice of a monarch and let slip the dogs of war who would avenge the foul deed of his murder by the conspirators. The smell of blood of those who had been felled would hang like a miasma over earth, punctuated by the cries of half dead corpses crying out for burial.
