how does dry ice works

Dear Student

Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide, which is stored under very high pressure.

Melting point of carbon dioxide is approximately -78°C and boiling point is approximately -57°C. Both of these values are much below room temperature. Hence, it sublimates directly to gas form when exposed to normal pressure and temperature condition. Since, there is no liquid involved, it is called dry ice.

Best wishes!!
