Fire has a number of utilities and can be created simply by striking a match. However, sometimes an unattended fire can have disastrous consequence. Other than that, fire can also be caused due to short circuits, improper disposal of inflammable products etc. The extinguishing of fire depend upon its cause. For example, if it is a short circuit fire then pouring water would only make it worse. The best method would be to use a fire extinguisher.
