A rebel is a person who refuses to confirm to the existing norms of the society. A rebel always does something which is opposite to what the other people are doing. Therefore, the poet says that it is difficult to be a rebel. When we do something different, other people might laugh at us or ignore us. We might also get scolded for not following the rules.
