In PRESENT PERFECT TENSE ,, ,,can we use been and gone as the past participle of go ? been means that he had visited the place but now he is in another place,,,is this right,

Dear student

The rule for writing a sentence in the present perfect tense is:

Subject       +       has/have      +      past participle of the main verb.

Therefore both words, been and gone, can be used in the place of the past participle of the main verb. Even though both been and gone are used as the past participle of the verb 'go', each have a distinct meaning.

For example:

- She has been to Europe (She went to Europe once, but now she has come back.)

- She has gone to Europe (She went to Europe and she is still there.)
