Sir,

Subject: Flying kites turning fatal to birds

Our society needs a wake up call for this letter is an appeal of our entire locality who are busy celebrating Baisakhi and Independance Day by flying kites from their terrace. While this might be a source of entertainment to human beings, it is turning fatal for birds who die because of these strings.

According to surveys being held, every year, during these times, hundreds of birds are slain or cut deeply by these fatal strings, some of which are also lined with glass pieces. NGOs have taken notice of the fact and are trying to level best to raise a voice against this practice. This act is as violent and inhumane as poaching and hunting for fun.

Through the esteemed columns of your newspaper, I would like to bring forth this issue.

Yours sincerely,

Aman Verma
