pls tell me about..the derivation of A.C. chap..do we need to remeb the derivations...plss tell me which are important one..plsss fast.....plssss..

Dear Student!

Yes you need to learn the derivations of the chapter alternating current, but you do not have to mug it up without understanding. I would suggest you to go through the study material once which will help you understand the concepts.This will reduce your effort in learning the derivations and you will be able to derive them simply on your own.

All the key points and important derivations are provided on our website in the Revision Notes section of the Revise button.

@ Sebastian: Thanks for the efforts! Keep it up.

1. mean and rms values of sinusoidal voltage and current.

2. derive equation of current in pure inductive circuit. I = Io sin(wt - 90) and inductive reactance XL = wL

5. derive equation of current in pure capacitive circuit. I = Io sin(wt + 90) and capacitive reactance XC = 1/wC

6. LCR series circuit, phasor diagram, Impedence triangle.

Z = √R2 + (XL - XC),

φ = tan-1 (XL - XC )/R

---

7. Q-factor derivation , Q = R√C/L

8. Derivation of effective power.

Peff = Eeff Ieff cos(φ)
