1. The water was cold so they decided against bathing. Jim Accidently fell into the river by losing his balance. He tried to get Harris and George in but they didn't listen- they were busy laughing at Jim and didnt fall for it.

2. Montmorency- Always ready for a fight, brave, etc. Cat- Confident, experienced,etc.

3. Harris messed up the cooking of the eggs, as always. He had boasted about making delicious scrambled eggs, when actually he didn't have a clue how to make them. He would burn his fingers, drop egg goo all over his clothes, dance around the pan, etc. Jim n George enjoyed this as they didn't know what scrambled eggs were.

4. When his mistress was shopping, the dog was busy wrecking havoc at the place he had been tied. He bit the other dogs and started a terrific dog-fight among the peaceful dogs. when hismistress came back he was once again a meek little thing.

7. This depends upon YOUR point of view. For me, it was the Hay-Market incident.

9. He got up early and got ready thinking it was 8:45 am when actually it was 3 am. His watch had stopped working. He got dressed and headed out. It was winter and very dark outside. No one was about except some policemen. They got suspicious of George and followed him around. George became very nervous. He couldn't even go back to sleep, so he went for a walk, getting the policeman even moresuspicious of him. He got so scared of policemen after that, he stopped getting up before 10 am.
