Show that a-b, a and a=b are three consecutive terms of an A.P.?

Let a= a - b   ; a= a   ;  a= a + b
now, a- a1 = a - (a - b) = a - a + b = b
and a- a= (a + b) - a = a + b - a = b
since, a- a= a- a= b
so, the given terms are in AP.

a-b, a , a+b

The differece between 1st and 2nd terms (d1) = a- (a-b)

d1 = a-a +b

d1 = b

The difference between 2nd and 3rd terms (d2) = a+b-a

d2 = b

Since the differece between two consecutive terms is same.

So, a-b, a, a+b are in A.P.
