Angle traced by hour hand in 12 hours = $360°$
Now we have to find the angle between minute hand and hour hand when time is 8:30
So 8 hours 30 minutes = ($8+\frac{30}{60}$) =$\frac{17}{2}hours$
Thus angle traced by hour hand in $\frac{17}{2}$hours = $\left(\frac{360°}{12}\right)\times \frac{17}{2} = 255°$

Angle traced by minute hand in 60 minutes = $360°$
So angle traced by minute hand in 30 minutes = $\left(\frac{360°}{60}\right)\times 30 =180°$
Hence required angle = $(255°- 180°) = 75°$  (Ans) 

So option (A) is correct
