there is a question in my book rohitdistributes toffees to his
friends if he gives 5,10,and 12 to each he is left with no toffees
what is the least no of toffees he should buy , iam not able to
understand that why do i need to find the l c m to get the answer

LCM stands for least common multiple It is used to solve this
question beacuse it will help Rohit to know the least number of
toffees he needs to buy so that after distributing toffees to his
friends he is left with no extra toffees
