wat is the diffference between concave and convex lens

a concave lense:                                               a convex lense:

it is thin in the middle                                       it is buldging in the middle and tapers at the ends

it always forms virtual images                        it forms real images {and sometimes virtual also when object is very near}

it is a diverging lense                                       it is a converging lense

Convex lens:

A lens that possesses at least one surface that is curved outward is known as a convex lens. If both the surfaces of the lens are curved outward, it is known as a biconvex lens. The image formed by a convex lens will be real and inverted, except when the object is between the focus and the optical center. When the object is between the focus and the optical center, the image formed will be virtual and erect.

Uses: Telescopes, spectacles, microscopes etc.

Concave lens:

A lens that possesses at least one surface that is curved inward is known as a concave lens. If both the surfaces of the lens are curved inward, it is known as a biconcave lens. The image formed by the concave lens will be always virtual and erect.

Uses: Telescopes, spectacles etc.

The convex lens bulges out at the center, while the concave lens bulges in at the center. The convex lens magnifies, while the concave lens reduces. "_"

a beam of light converges and bends inwards when it is passed through a convex lens whereas when a beam of light

passes through a concave mirror it diverges and bends outwards!

hope it helps u!!!

 Convex lens is thicker in the middle while concave lens is thinner in the middle

A convex lens converges the light ray falling on it, while a concave lens diverges the light ray falling on it
