what is a hydride gap??

The elements in the region of the periodic table from group 7 to 9 do not form hydrides.This is called hydride gap.Example of such elements are Mn, Fe, Co, Ru, Re, Os etc.These elements donot form hydrides on account of low affinity for hydrogen in their normal oxidation states.
