These are the characters brought about in a person when he/she reaches puberty. Some of these characteristics make the person sexually mature, make them capable of reproducing.

A few of these characteristics are: The growth of breasts, the reproductive organs become mature and start producing sperm/ they release eggs, growth of hair in various parts of the body, etc.
