well... when fertilization takes place n the primary cell divisions hve taken place 2 form a multicellular eukaryotic organism, the growin organism (in the mother's womb) in itzz earliest stage of development soon after conception izz regarded as an embryo !!!

OR

in simple words... the growin multicellular organism in the mother's womb soon after conception izz called the embryo of that organism !!!

foetus izz the unborn offspring, particularly of a vertebrate which izz still in itzz developmental stage b4 itzz birth, when all itzz structural features of an adult r recognisable... foetal stage izz the stage after the embryonic stage of the organism till itzz birth

hope u got my wordz =)

 Differences between foetus and embryo-

Foetus is the last stage of baby's development while embryo is the first stage

Foetus is fully developed and clearly identical as a baby while embryo is just the division's start of a baby and not clearly identical

Foetus occurs after embryo and embryo occurs before foetus

Embryo is the combination of just two cells while foetus is almost a complete baby

hope u got it!!!!!!!!

Hi Smriti !!!!

The embryo refers to the first stage of development of a baby from the moment of fertilization. It is called a fetus from the eighth week of conception. There are developmental differences between the two stages ......

an embryo is a mass a cells which is basically indistinguishable; it looks like a single substance almost
a foetus is a fully formed infant ; head , limbs , etc.

The first stage of child development in the uterus is the embryo and the last stage is foetus ......

The physical changes seen in the mother is also noteworthy difference ........
