what is the difference between rational numbers and fractions?

Hi!

Fraction is the ratio of any two numbers, where the denominator is not zero. For example, pi/2 is a fraction. However, a rational number is of the form p/q, where p and q are integers and q ≠ 0.
Although the number pi/2 is a fraction, it is not a rational number.

You can say that, every rational number is a fraction but the converse is not true.
