what is the difference between vasectomy and tubectomy ?

Vasectomy is a minor surgical procedure wherein the vasa deferentia of a man are severed, and then tied/sealed in a manner such to prevent sperm from entering the seminal stream (ejaculate).       whereas

Tubal ligation (informally known as getting one's "tubes tied") is a form of female sterilization, in which the fallopian tubes are severed and sealed or "pinched shut", in order to prevent fertilization.

Vasectomy is a surgical procedure in which the vasa deferentia of a man are severed, and sometimes tied or sealed.

Tubectomy also referred to, as Tubal Sterilization is a surgical procedure done on women as a permanent method of contraception. Gynaecologists, general surgeons and laparoscopic surgeons perform tubectomy.
